Would I buy this again?
I cleaned out my books this weekend and ended up donating over 60. (Yes, I know, I have too many books.)
The question I found most helpful in the process was: "If this book disappeared, would I buy it again?"
If I wouldn't buy it again, I don't need to keep it just because I already have it.
Of course, this applies far beyond books. That job. Your college degree. A dream you're clinging to.
Sometimes the things that once served us well no longer do.
Each day you get to make a new decision. And using sunk costs to do so isn't too helpful.
